Kirby is back and he is ready to take on all enemies with a Robotic armor that gives him new abilities.
In Kirby Planet Robobot, our hero Kirby armors as he takes on the evil Haltman Works Company and prevent them from taking over his world.
Kirby will don the powerful Robotic armor and utilize the Copy Ability to shape-shift into various modes like a fast-moving car or flying jet to name a few. Nintendo’s goal was to make players to try and anticipate the new modes by using different techniques to each the end of each stage.
We love the addition of Kirby’s Robotic Armor because it changes up the typical Kirby game play. The same goes for the new abilities, like Doctor Poison and our favorite ESP (It is slightly OP).
Another added bonus was seeing some of the familiar Kirby bosses from previous games, especially the return of Dark Matter.
On a side note, it is helpful to have at least 2 Amiibos to complete the game. We did not pick up any of the new Amiibo figures, but love the looks of Kirby, King Dedede, Waddle Dee, and Meta Knight. We did get a green Kirby since we have a Smash Bros Meta Knight.
On the downside, some of the battles with the bosses were annoying when it came to the mechanics.
A good example was the one against Holo Coily Rattler 2.0 where he kept bouncing between the foreground and background. This was frustrating since we had no usable when he was in the background.
We were able to finish the story mode on the first day but there are side games and arenas (Here we recommend ESP), where you fight harder versions of the bosses. Our favorite is Meta Knight Mare Returns where you get to take on the role of Meta Knight.
Overall, we must say this newest game is a must have for any fans of the Kirby series. As for the casual video game fans, this came can draw draw you in and become a fan of the the pink puffball.
