Kirby makes the move to the Switch and we can not wait for more.
Nintendo released their next installment,Kirby Star Allies, for a unique hero that has earned a special place in the hearts of fans since he first appeared.
We discovered Kirby a few years back and were hooked. Undoubtedly, we were curious if the new game would end up in our top 5 Kirby games or miss the mark.
The platforming game focuses on Kirby as he travels through his world, recruiting enemies and imbuing weapons with various elemental powers.
After numerous hours of game, we are ready to share our thoughts on Kirby Star Allies.
The first thing we have to discuss is the ability to take over the enemies and have them join your team. We do like the addition of allies you can take control, we have been having a lot of fun with Marx lately.
The ability to change up the type of elemental attack for your party does make a huge difference. It give you the chance to try out different types of weapon combinations and see what works best.
We also love the fact this is a multiplayer game from the console. There is something satisfying about being able to toss your friend at your enemies.
The formula for the game may feel redundant because it i the same one they use for Kirby Return to Dreamland. We would have preferred they changed it in some form.
Another thing is some of the villains do not make sense. One example is the Hyness who drains the life force from the 3 mages but you don’t know what ended up happen with them.
Lastly there is a lack of content in the base game. There are no DX bosses or harder versions. Something that we did see in Kirby Planet Robobot.
Overall, this is a fun game and worth picking up for the Switch even if you are just a casual fan of the pink guy. The addition of characters down the road will extend the gameplay.
