Space the final frontier is the perfect environment for a LEGO Ideas project.
Creator ThomasW decided to to go back to his roots of his LEGO love with his LEGO Ideas Classic Space Anniversary set and modernize it.
We have covered other building sets center around every day worlds, like the Magic shop, but this time we had to venture out into space.
The project will contain roughly 2,800 parts and feature the following.
A Homebase hanger with a crane, elevator, 3 sliding doors, and plenty of tools and computers.
Three Spacehips consisting of a transport, a classic spaceship, and a modern classic spacehip.
Three Rovers which were based on the design fro m 1979 and specialized to do one job.
The set will be completed 9 minifigures to boot.
Here are a few more images of the Classic Space Set.
Overall, we enjoy the feel of this project. There is plenty to do and seems like it could be useful with other related LEGO project. An added bonus is how many minifigures you would get with the set, in a variety of classic colors.
At the time of this article, the LEGO Ideas project had 1,828 supporters with 590 days left.
