Former members of the Shied headline the WWE’s upcoming PPV event which has a chance to be better than a second tier event.
We thought it was time to share our 2016 WWE Battleground Predictions and why we feel this PPV has a chance to be sneaky good.
As always, by no means are JG13 Gamer and I experts on wrestling but we do love trying to figure out which direction the brand is going to go. Sometimes we are spot on,
Sometimes we are spot on, Extreme Rules, and other times we completely miss the mark, Money in the Bank.
On to the 2016 Battleground predictions.
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens
So much for this being the last battle between the two since they are both on Raw. This is actually okay since the two put on a solid show. Zayn is going to continue the uphill battle after he earns a hard loss to KO.
Natalya vs. Becky Lynch
The top ladies on Smackdown will square off in what has the potential to be a slobber knocker. Natalya will give Becky a hard time, but it will not be enough as the Lass Kicker earns the win.
The Club vs. John Cena / Enzo / Cass
This is one of the hardest matches to pick. The end of the Club as we know it is here so they could go out on a high note. On the other hand, Cena is there to help his new buddies get over. We think things will go bad with the Club though we might catch a Balor sighting.
Intercontinental Championship: The Miz vs. Darren Young
While it is good to see Young in the ring, with Backlund at his side, we are not sure if this is enough to put him over. The Miz is in the perfect spot to bring out some of the best in the mid-card wrestlers. He retains and this is hard for us to say because he is on our list.
US Championship: Rusev vs. Zack Ryder
Full disclaimer, we are a big fan of Ryder. and have loved to see him featured more this year. Despite that, we think he has a slim chance to none to take the title from Rusev. Stranger things have happened, but we just do not see it.
Charlotte & Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks & ???
The second women’s match of the night features some intrigue. Who will the mystery partner be for the Boss. We would like to see Bayley here, but see Paige as the likely choice. In the end it does not matter because Charlotte and Dana are going to earn a win and continue to heat up the feud.
New Day vs. The Wyatt Family
The title is not on the line but it does not mean to take this match lightly. The Wyatt family is splitting up after this and it means nothing good for the New Day. Bray is going to do some damage on them and take Xavier out of the game early.
WWE Championship Triple Threat Match: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose
We close out our 2016 WWE Battleground predictions with the featured match. Formers brothers go head to head for the title. Ambrose has our support but we do not see how Vince is going to let the title hang out on Smackdown. If Reigns get the title after his suspension, the WWE universe is going to implode. This leaves us with Rollins getting the title back.
