The big summer event of the year is here but did WWE set it up properly?
The 2018 SummerSlam event takes places this weekend and will feature the entire WWE roster as storylines come to a close.
WWE has been pushing this event to be the benchmark of the summer months but did thy do enough to make sure fans feel the same?
As always, we are by no means experts and just like trying to figure out what they are thinking behind the scenes. On to our 2018 SummerSlam predictions.
B Team vs The Revival RAW Tag Team Championship
Not sure how this match happened but we would love to see the Revival win. We are tired of the B Team entrance song.
Cien /Vega vs Rusev/Lana
The feud has given fans some interesting stories but the one thing we don’t like is the slow burn of Rusev Day. It will continue as Cien and Vega earn the win.
Baron Corbin vs Finn Balor
It has been an okay feud and if Corbin wins this one, then we are losing more hope for Balor.
The Bludgeon Brothers vs New Day – Smackdown Tag Team Championship
We thought they would go a different route, but how can you go wrong with New Day in a match? The Brothers may have their hands full, but we expect them to retain this time around.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jeff Hardy – US Championship
This has been an interesting feud between the two men and but feel the time has come to end it. WWE is better served to let Shinsuke keep the title and Jeff to move on to other wrestlers.
The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan
This has been a long building feud so we expect to see it still going on after tonight. This means it would be better served to see the Miz win. Perhaps with some assistance of some kind.
Cedric Alexander vs Drew Gulak – Cruiserweight Championship
We will not be surprised to see this on the kick-off show and are glad they are getting some love. Alexander is solid in the ring and will do well with keeping the belt.
Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins – Intercontinental Championship
This may be the best match of the night, not just for the two men in the ring but the two men on the outside. We see Ziggler retaining tonight and a feud developing between Ambrose and the Terminator.
A.J. Styles vs Samoa Joe – WWE Championship
Styles has had an amazing run with the belt but it is time for some new blood and Joe is the perfect one. After this night, he will be the second best champion on the WWE roster. The first one is coming up.
Carmella vs Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch – Smackdown Women’s Championship
Hands down this has been the most interesting story line they have been pushing. The addition of Flair gave it an extra edge. The Lass Kicker is coming away with the belt so WWE can help build up future matches.
Kevin Owens vs Bray Strowman
The MIB is on the line and this makes the match interesting. We have seen how Braun can lose it to K.O. and honestly we think it will happen. We don’t see Braun as the type who needs to cash it in to get the title. It will be better used by Owens.
Alexa Bliss vs Rhonda Rousey – RAW Woman’s Championship
This is the coronation for Rhonda as she will earn the belt tonight. There is no need to continue this into Survivor Series and let WWE focus on new stories for both of them.
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns – Universal Championship
There is no way for this to turn out right. Brock wins and they continue to push him down the path he has bee going which is meh. Then there is Roman who we have no clue what they want to do with outside of having the belt on him. Reigns wins and maybe they end this feud.
