New year means there are plenty of potential movies we may add to our list
After pouring over the list of upcoming moves, we made our selections for our most anticipated movies of 2020 and wanted to share them with you.
At first glances, there is a drop in the number of comic book related movies coming out this year. Marvel will need to prove their worth this year while DC is banking on two leading ladies to carry the load.
There are a few movies outside the book which will prove to be interesting. Especially if they are successful.
On to the movies we feel you can’t miss in 2020.
Birds of Prey And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (Feb 7th)
The first trailer caused some concern as it was heavy on he Harley. The second trailer eased some of those fears. We love that Black Mask will have his iconic look too. This may not be a huge hit, but should come in ahead of Suicide Squad.
Fantasy Island (Feb 14th)
This could be the sneaky good horror movie of the year. It makes sense how fantasies can become twisted and turn people’s dreams into nightmares. Color us interested.
The New Mutants (April 3rd)
Maybe I am a sucker for Mutants but the latest trailers have me excited to see this one. Sure they are not some of the big name ones, but they have a chance to make their names known by the middle of April.
No Time to Die (April 8th)
The 007 series keeps on going and we are perfectly fine with that. We are curious to see how the current incarnation will finish up and even more so to see where it will end up.
Black Widow (May 1st)
Yes, it seems a little weird to see this movie considering what happened in Endgame. We think it would have been better off early on but we have faith in Marvel to give Black Widow the perfect swan song.
Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5th)
The first Wonder Woman movie was refreshing and we hope they can continue the trend. She brings something special to the screen that you do not normally see in most DC movies. We think this is going to be one of the best of the year.
Candyman (June 12th)
The original was one of my favorites so there is no chance I will be missing out on this one. This could be a good way to introduce JG13 Gamer to one of the better lesser known horror icons.
Ghostbusters Afterlife (July 10th)
The last Ghostbuster movie was a mixed bag. We liked the approach they took but in the end it had nothing to do with the first. Things have changed with this movie. We can call get the third movie fans wanted.
Morbius (July 31st)
We just had a chance to see the teaser trailer for Morbius and we are defintely looking forward to this. Based on what we have seen, it looks like Sony is moving forward with their version of the Sinister Six.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (Aug 20th)
It has been some time since this duo has been on the big screen. Is this one of those cases where every thing Reeves touches does not tun to gold? We thing there maybe a chance this won’t live up to expectations but we will have to check it out.
The King’s Man (Sept 18th)
They are taking a different path with this trilogy by going back to the beginning. We are curious about this take and they have an excellent actor taking the lead. It should bring the same level of energy as the other two.
Venom 2 (Oct 2020)
The first Venom movie was better than we hoped and gave us some excitement for one of the best Spider-man villains. This time we will get to see Venom go up against Carnage with a possible cameo from our favorite web crawler.
Snake Eyes (Oct 16th)
He is one of the most iconic characters from GI Joe, but the problem is not much is known about the character. How will this translate into building a desire to see the movie? The first trailer needs to bring it to garner some attention.
Eternals (Nov 6th)
This is one of the first Marvel movies we are completely unsure of. Maybe they can pull off a sneaky hit like Guardians of the Galaxy or it will be a middle of the road movie like Captain Marvel. Time will tell.
Godzilla vs Kong (Nov 20th)
The previous movies have rekindled the love of Kaiju in the general public. now we get to see the biggest ones go head to head in this blockbuster movie.
