We love the game Plants Vs. Zombies 2. The folks at PopCap do an excellent job with the continuous updating with unique plants/zombies and changes in game play.
Despite all of these positive things, we do have a problem with the game.
It revolves around PopCap and what they have decided to do with the newest plants added to the game.
For example they recently added the plant Dandelion to the mobile game. Power Boy was excited to see this come over from the Chinese spin-off of Plants Vs. Zombies 2.
While we did not think it would be free, they have changed the pricing. You used to be able to buy plants for a $2-4.
Now you have to use gems to buy the plants.Even worse, if you want to buy gems to get the plants, it is going to cost around $10 for a stack of 110 gems.
Sure you can earn gems in the game but they are super rare to find, but it makes it a daunting process. Especially for a 10 yr old who has been waiting for months for a plant like this to come over to the US version.
While we do understand they are a business and in the goal of making money, but sometimes things can go a bit overboard. Maybe if they see a decline in sales, PopCap may revert back to their old ways.
We will not be holding our breath.
