The last PPV event of September, Clash of Champions, is chock full of championship matches, but will there be enough on the ticket to make it worth your time?
The Raw specific event is an interesting one but after a quick look, it does not feel like our Clash of Champion 2016 predictions were too difficult this time around.
We had some misses when it came to how Backlash played out but we think this time around it should be a bit easier. As always, by no means are we even average when it comes to our knowledge of WWE. We love doing this for fun.
Nia Jax vs. Alicia Fox
This may not be a typical sqaush match but we do not see any other real outcome. They did try to build up a bit of a story with Fox going after her for what happened to her friend. We can not see Fox coming out on top in this opening match.
Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho
Zayn has been solid in his matches as of late while Jericho has been doing some of his best work on the mic and pulling off the heel role. This has a chance to be one of the top matches of the night based on previous interaction. Jericho will earn the win and continue this feud to the next event.
Sheamus vs. Cesaro
The best of seven series ends at the Clash of Champions 2016 but there is little doubt who is going to win the match, the comeback kid, Cesaro.
TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick Cruiserweight Championship
On the surface, this is a perplexing match because we know so little about them. We saw four cruiserweights hit the ring on Raw but we did not even get a look at the champion. There is little doubt Perkins is going to lose the belt in his first match.
The New Day vs. Anderson & Gallows Tag Team Championship
The feud between New Day and Anderson/Gallows has been an entertaining one at times but it has led us up to this point. The time has come for the reigning champs to take a step back. The reign will end on Sunday as Anderson/Gallows earn the belts, but the feud is far from done.
Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley Woman’s Championship
The Triple threat match is one of the toughest ones to call. We would prefer to see the Boss win the belt back but that is a long shot. In wrestling reality, we think Dana Brooks is almost going to cost Charlotte the title, but in the end she will win. This will set up the Charlotte/Brooks and Bayley/Banks feuds.
Rusev vs. Roman Reigns US Championship
Vince may have not forgiven Reigns completely but it looks they still want to push him to become the man, even if it is with a lesser belt. The way the matches have been going, Rusev will squeak out with a win here but you can bet the belt will not stay with him for long.
Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins WWE Universal Championship
The title is on the line sort of as Rollins takes on the new face of RAW. We do not see Owens as a one and done champion, so there is no chance he will lose the title. We think Triple HHH will make a showing and distract Rollins just enough to help the champ retain.
