One of WWE’s most unique events is coming up this week and the wrestling universe has no idea what is going to happen.
The Rumble is a one kind of event and has the chance to show us something new, so here are our Royal Rumble 2017 Predictions.
For starters, we sure hope the Royal Rumble lives up to the hype as opposed to previous PPV events like Roadblock.
The last thing we want is to have the even to fall flat after seeing some progress, especially on Smackdown. We would like to see this event help build some more momentum to Wrestlemania.
As always, we are by no means wrestling experts but we do love to share our thoughts on how things will go. Here are our Royal Rumble
KICKOFF SHOW
Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax
The Boss is in a new rivalry match with Jax and we love how they have been building it. Banks got in some good hits in on the last RAW episode so it looks like they will let her play at full health. Despite this, expect to see Jax earn the win as the creative minds continue to push Banks as the babyface.
Cesaro/Sheamus vs. Luke Gallows/Karl Anderson (RAW Tag Team Championship)
The unlikely pair have found some success with their title run. Sure they had some close calls but nothing that can not overcome for now. Gallows/Anderson will have a title soon, but not this WWE PPV event.
MAIN EVENT
Royal Rumble
There are a handful of wrestlers who tossed their name into the proverbial ring who have a chance. Ones like the Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman, or Baron Corbin. While we can see reasons for these guys to win, we are looking at one of the unnamed entrants to take it, Samoa Joe. There have been rumbling of him being brought up from NXT and this would be the perfect way to introduce him.
Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns (Universal Championship)
Common sense is tossed out with this match. It makes sense to have Reigns wait to wear the title we do not see the creative minds as the patient type. Owens title run is going to end at the Rumble.
Charlotte vs. Bayley (Women’s Championship)
The huggster takes on the Queen and tries to dethrone her. Bayley has been coming into her own but we do not see Charlotte’s PPV streak any time soon. The creative mind seems to like streaks.
John Cena vs AJ Styles (WWE Championship)
This title is on the line as the Champ tries to earn his sixteenth title in WWE history. While we would like to see this, we do not see the Phenom losing it in TX. Styles will find a way to keep the belt, but where it goes from there, who knows.
Rick Swann vs Neville (Cruiserweight Championship)
Neville has been on fire since he turned heel and that is not good news for Swann. We have enjoyed his run as the champion, but we do not see how he is going to stop Neville this time.
Becky Lynch/Nikki Bella/Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Natalya
The six women tag team match features an interesting mix of wrestlers who have been working on various story lines. Two of them, Nikki and Natalya, may take themselves out early if they get heated. Sure Naomi doesn’t fit, but we needed someone to match up against James. The Heels will come out on top.
