Raft Review

Raft

There are no volleyballs in this one.

Redbeet Interactives created the survival game Raft and have found a way to make a dire situation actually entertaining.

We dipped back into the world of Steam and found something that caught our attention.

Raft throws you and your friends into an epic adventure out on the big open sea, with the
objective to stay alive, gather resources and build yourself a floating home worthy of
survival.

Sure we saw some of the early game play videos but we were not sold on it. Boy where we wrong once we had a chance to dive it.

The developers did a good job of making gathering resources entertaining, but found a way to keep it engaging and less like a task. Even though there is only one foil to your plans, the shark, there is enough there to keep you on y our toes.

This would be interesting to see if they created a multiplayer world where you could encounter more than just a few survivors, but then we need to find a way to colonize an island.

If you ever want to play out your creative side, the Creative Mode is the perfect way to create until your heart and mind is content.

In the end, this game may not be the Game of the Year, but for $20, it is worth adding to your collection.

If you had a chance to play Raft, let us know what you thought.
