The writing was always on the wall.
Rare made the announcement this week about the Arena Dump from Sea of Thieves and we have mixed feelings.
The problem was Rare was not doing anything with Arenas. Once they stopped supporting it, there was no way it could last.
That being said, it still sucks for old and new players.
The Arena was a good way to focus on your PvP skills against others who were actively looking for it. The map was small and it was focused on four ships.
Now if you want to partake in the Adventure side, you will need to search the entire map for a ship. Hope you are lucky.
The other disappointing thing is the removal of the tiered awards that went along with Arenas. At least we have a few more weeks to try and purchase what we can.
The Future
Based on their removal, we thing this still leaves things open for the Sea Dog faction.
We would like to see them revamp the faction and have it focus on PvP in the Adventure world. Perhaps they can record kills made with each type of weapon? Or even they can focus on certain types of attacks on ships.
In the end, there was no doubt this was coming, it was only a matter of time.
