Since we missed the first movie, we were not sure what to expect with Sonic The Hedgehog 2, but we are glad we did not skip out on this one.
When we added this movie to our Must See in 2022, we had some concern but it was alleviated the moment during the first act of the movie.

We are a huge fan of seeing Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles on the big screen. The animation look solid and they felt like their characters. Yes, we did enjoy how Carrey portrayed Eggman. Another reason we have to go back to see the first one.
The addition of the human characters outside Eggman were enough to keep it moving forward without taking away from the focus of it.
Sure there are questionable plot points that conveniently filled, but that is to be expected in a movie based on a video game. We are willing to look past the scenes to get us to the final act.
Yes, you need to stay around for the one post credit scene. It is nice to see other production companies are using similar methods to hype up movies down the road.
In the end, the movie exceeded our expectations and made us glad we saw it. If you are a fan of Sonic or you have young kids, it would be worth your while to take them.
