There was a lot of negative talk prior to the release of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and we are glad to say it was better than expected.
Yes we knew going into the movie, this was not going to be the same turtles I grew up with or the ones Power Boy has loved watching on Nick.
Part of that is the reason why we liked this movie.
For starters, we did like there was some difference in how the turtles looked in relation to each other. While there personalities have always been different, it was refreshing to see this, though I disliked Donnie’s voice.
We did like seeing clips of the turtles growing up to where they are now. It did help give some more insight. Though this did lead to one of things I didn’t like. It seemed the story line remain centered on Fox. She was the one who saved them early on and it comes back around to her.
I see why they did this, but still do not like it. Maybe this will change when they do a sequel.
Power Boy and I both agree the fight scenes were good and it was refreshing to see the turtles in action in different ways. Though the Shredder’s suit was a bit too much, especially when he was able to recall the blades he shot out.
While this is not a movie you need to see during the first weekend of release, it is a definite value to check it out on the big screen.
