WWE bring hardcore to the forefront this weekend with the Extreme Rules event.
The annual WWE Hardcore PPV event is here and so it is time for us to share with you our 2016 Extreme Rules predictions.
The ‘New ERA’ has brought some more life back to RAW & Smackdown and there is hope it can continue into this weekend. There are some interesting matches on the card and there is a chance it can be a solid showing.
But we know how things can change.
As a reminder, the two of us are anything but experts on WWE but we love to try and figure out what the writers have in plan for the WWE universe.
On to our 2016 Extreme Rules predictions.
Dolph Ziggler v. Baron Corbin Ziggler has one job tonight, to make Corbin look like the beast he is and kick the show off in the right direction. So far their matches have been meh, but time for the Showoff to take it up a notch.
Kalisto v. Rusev (US Championship) The match appears to be just another replay of Ryback and Kalisto. We like watching Kalisto work but we feel Rusev is coming away with the title and just in time for John Cena to challenge him for it.
New Day v. The Vaudevillains (Tag Team Championship) The current champs are looking to retain the title against a pair from a bygone era. It has been fun watching the Vaudevillains at work but there is no stopping the Unicorn Stampede this time.
The Usos v. Anderson/Gallows The Tornado match will have a hard time living up to the recent battles between the groups. Either way it should still be entertaining enough and cause some spill over into the main event. Anderson and Gallows should come away with a solid win.
Dean Ambrose v. Chris Jericho The Asylum match centers around the destruction of a light up jacket and a plant named Mitch. The buildup has started to stall so this is the best time to put it to rest. The Lunatic fringe will come away with a win after they beat each other to a pulp.
Intercontinental Championship Fatal Four Way Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn may end up focusing on themselves a bit too much in the match, leaving a chance for Cesaro or the Miz to grab the title. We are banking on some outside interference from Maryse to help her man retain the title.
Charlotte v. Natalya (WWE Woman’s Championship) Glad to see the Nature Boy banned from ringside though we are not sure if he will find a way to intercede. Most money is on the champion to keep belt, but we see Natalya earning it for at least the night before she goes off into the sunset.
Roman Reigns v. AJ Styles (WWE Championship) The champion no one wants against the champion everyone seems to swoon over. This match has a chance to help Roman win over some more fans based on what we have been seeing him do in recent weeks. We would love to see AJ with the title, but we do not see how Roman can not head into Summerslam without the belt.
