Cryptozoic Entertainment is creating a new Ghostbusters II: The Board game.
The kickstarter project is already closing in on 4,000 backers and has raised more than double the $250,000 goal originally set.
The board game is meant for 1 -4 players who will take on the roles of the Ghostbusters in this Board Game. Investigate mood slime that has flooded the city, causing earthquakes as Vito looks to return to the world.
The game will feature three campaigns which are based on the original designs by Dan Schoening and an original story by Erik Burnham, both IDW Ghostbuster Comic veterans.
The strategy game will set characters, with a wide range of abilities, against unpredictable characters. The modular design and new cards featuring everything from events to equipment will help keep the gaming experience fresh.
Thanks to the 12 reversible tiles, gameplay can last from 20 minutes to a few hours depending on how many players you have and what campaigns you take on.
Here are a few new things you can expect to see in this second version.
- Slime Blower Pack Ghostbusters (allowing you to turn Ghosts into helpful ones)
- Goo Piles (which you can search for stolen gear or trigger events)
- Variant Trap Mechanics rules to help add even more to the game.
While some of the specific pledge options may be gone due to the popularity of this game, there are still plenty up for grabs.
Oh and we love the minis that come with the game.
